Pre-Apprenticeship Program
The Pre-Apprenticeship Program is 144 hours of related-training instructions (RTI) where students learn theoretical trainng. Students receive a complete classroom kit, learning materials, and gain hours towards completing their apprenticeship hours.

The Apprenticeship Program is a training program approved by the Department of Labor (DOL) and Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (Board) that allows a trainee, called an apprentice, to earn a wage while studying to become a cosmetologist, barber or estetician under the guidance and supervision of a trainer in an establishment licensed by the Board.
Qualifications to participate in the Apprenticeship Program
1. Be at least sixteen (16) years of age and have completed the 10th grade or its equivalency.
2. Have a valid social security (SSN) or tax payer identification (TIN) number.
3. Have a valid government issued photo ID.
4. Completed the Pre-apprenticeship programs.
5. Commit to working a minimum of 25 hours and no more than 42 ½ hours per week of On the Job Training (OJT) hours. Apprentice are required to complete a minimum of 2000 total hours over a 2-year period.
5. Attend and complete the Instruction classes.
How to become an Apprentice
To start the process of becoming an apprentice you will need to apply to the school and pay applicable fees.

After you complete the Pre-apprentice Training Class, you can be placed with a salon sponsor, OR work in our group sponsored program at our school and earn your hours.

Our Cosmetology School is a traditional cosmetology school where students attend 1250 hours with theory and practical skills training plus over 50 hours of Business courses.
